Description
Beach pebbles are a beautiful thing, they’re smooth, fit nicely in your hand and have very pleasing shapes but sometimes I give nature a helping hand. Over the years I’ve painted hundreds of these pebbles and all have been given away as random gifts. I paint them with non toxic paint and a waterproof sealer so they can handle water and weather.
On occasion I will paint one and take it back to where I found it, wish it a good life and walk away. This is my way of giving back to the beach from where I gathered my pebbles. Some I’m sure get washed away into the ocean and live their lives as a colourful addition to the beauty below the waves, some will get worn off by the turns and tumbles of the pebbles surrounding them and some will be found by passersby. Can you image the stories these people would tell once discovering the painted pebbles and try to imagine why they are there and where they came from. I’ve never found out the fate of any of my journey pebbles but that doesn't stop me from creating more. Ours is a world full of colour and mystery. It is my hope that a little improvement now and then, a little human intervention, might render it even more beautiful.
